Privacy statement

This statement explains how revalu collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when people contact us or use our website and services.

Effective 7 October 2026

Who we are

revalu provides IT asset disposition, electronics recycling and related reporting services in New Zealand. For the purposes of this statement, “we”, “us” and “our” mean revalu.

Information we collect

We may collect personal information that you choose to provide through our website enquiry form, by email, telephone or through another agreed channel. This may include:

  • your name, role, organisation and contact details;
  • the contents of your enquiry or service request;
  • collection addresses, site-access information and preferred timing;
  • information about assets, equipment or materials relevant to the requested service; and
  • records created while quoting, arranging or delivering a service.

Our website and hosting infrastructure may also process limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and security events. This information is used to operate, secure and diagnose the website.

How we use personal information

We use personal information where reasonably necessary to:

  • respond to enquiries, send enquiry confirmations and prepare quotes;
  • arrange collections, site access and service delivery;
  • identify, process, track and report on customer assets or materials;
  • provide certificates, chain-of-custody records, settlements and ESG reporting;
  • manage customer relationships, accounts and legal or financial records;
  • protect our customers, systems and services from misuse or security threats; and
  • meet applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

Providing information is voluntary, but we may be unable to respond or deliver a requested service if we do not receive the information reasonably required.

When information may be shared

We do not sell personal information. We may share relevant information with employees, contractors, logistics providers, downstream processing partners, professional advisers and technology providers where this is reasonably required to quote, arrange or deliver a service.

revalu intends to use RecyclyERP as its customer relationship, operational and customer-portal platform. Information entered into or made available through that platform may also be handled under RecyclyERP's applicable privacy terms. A link to an external portal will be clearly identified when it becomes available.

We may also disclose information where authorised or required by law, or where necessary to prevent or investigate a serious threat, fraud or security incident.

Service providers outside New Zealand

Some hosting, email or software providers may store or process information outside New Zealand. Where the Privacy Act 2020 applies to an overseas disclosure, revalu will take reasonable steps to meet its obligations under that Act.

Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information we hold. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide services, resolve disputes, maintain business and compliance records, or meet legal obligations. Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted or de-identified where practicable.

Cookies and analytics

The current public website does not use advertising trackers or non-essential analytics cookies. Essential infrastructure may still process technical request and security information. We will update this statement if analytics, additional cookies or similar tools are introduced.

Accessing or correcting your information

You may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to or correction of that information. Contact Nathan Bell using the details on this page. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You can also contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes to this statement

We may update this statement when our services, website or legal obligations change. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
